Response essay after watching 'BRAVE'

      I've watched the movie "BRAVE" I have watched that movie in Korean. In Korean it's called, "Merida and the magical forest" I have seen it before and I wasn't excited for watching it again. If you can see, Merida is a fantasy movie and the plot is about a girl and her mother's discord. The huge discord causes Merida to change her mom, the queen into a bear. However, in the end they happen to make up with each other. So, the bear becomes the queen again. The movie shows Merida willing to make her fate be true.It was quite a moving story.

     In the movie, Merida has a discord with her mother because she has her own thoughts about her fate. Although Merida has a determine thought about her fate, her mom disagrees with her thoughts. So, the princess refuses with her mother's opinion which makes her do very princess things. I agree with Merida's opinion that we should decide our own fate.

     First of all, if we can decide our own fate, we can enjoy our life. Merida enjoyed archery. She didn't enjoy her life when she was told and taught what she didn't like. Her life wasn't enjoyable. If she was told to do what she liked and allowed to play freely, she wouldn't have been rude to her mother!

     Second, if we can follow our own fate we can grow self-reliance. It's really important to be self reliable. You should be able to decide what you want to do. If you do the things that you don't want you are not willing to learn and that doesn't help anything. You should decide when and what you want to do something. Merida would have been better if she had more self reliance.

    Thirdly, it's Merida's life! After the king and the queen die, Merida has to live by herself. To do that she has to live her own life. It's not the queen or the king that will be living instead of Merida. I argue that at least Merida has enough rights to decide what she wants to do in the future.

    Lastly, everyone's fate is different. Although they are in the same family, their fates are all different. Like, although my sister and I are in the same family, what we are good at is different. Like this, although the queen and Merida are in the same family, they have different fates. The queen doesn't know Merida's fate, so, she shouldn't be able to decide Merida's life.

   To conclude, I feel that we should be able to decide our own fate, and our own life. We have to rely on each other, however one should decide one's fate by ourselves. That's the important part of our life.
